Following the inaugural, and successful 2015 Regional Infrastructure Conference in Bucharest, we are pleased to announce the second edition of our series of European conferences. This year the special event will be held in Krakow, Poland on 7-8 March 2016, preceded by a special pre-conference seminar on Best Value Procurement on 6 March.
The conference programme will focus on infrastructure investment, to raise awareness that FIDIC forms of contracts can be used, and are, frequently used in the European region, even if the market is predominantly regulated by public law and public procurement rules. Consulting engineers are forced to integrate FIDIC conditions of contract and best practices for the procurement of construction services within new EU procurement rules. These rules will be applied in all EU countries by April 2016 latest. There is still a big debate about how the directives should be implemented at national level, and perhaps an even bigger debate about MEAT (most economically advantageous tender) criteria and how can they be actually used in practice.
