Booking is now open for FIDIC’s flagship annual global event, the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference 2023, which this year takes place from 10-12 September at the Fairmont Hotel in Singapore. Given that last year’s event in Geneva was a sell-out, with all places taken well before the event, attendees are strongly encouraged to book places as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

The 2023 conference is taking place at an opportune and pivotal moment for the international construction industry, as it prepares to plan, develop and deliver the strategies and solutions the world needs to deliver the infrastructure that will build economic and social prosperity and improve people’s lives. As governments around the world identify investment in infrastructure as being key to rebuilding and revitalising their economies in the face of growing economic and political instability and the ever-present challenge of the climate crisis, the responsibility on engineering and construction professionals to deliver the goods has never been more sharply posed.

The conference theme, Infrastructure – there’s no time to lose: Sustainable global (and local) strategies to build a better world, will stress the urgency of the need to invest in infrastructure in a sustainable way at a local and national level that brings stakeholders together around a common aim of improving the global environment that we all depend on.

As ever, FIDIC is assembling a high-profile line-up of leading expert speakers from a range of influential organisations to speak at the conference, which will also bring together the world’s premier engineers and other stakeholders from the global construction and infrastructure sector. Leading global speakers will address the key issues the industry faces and offer their insights to an international audience.

FIDIC’s flagship annual event will be one of the most important international gatherings for the industry held in 2023, with the conference expected to attract many hundreds of infrastructure, engineering and construction professionals from around the world to discuss and debate the key issues and drivers for the industry. The venue, Fairmont Singapore, is brilliantly situated at the crossroads of Singapore’s central business districts, world-class shopping and entertainment, The hotel is conveniently located above the City Hall and Esplanade Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) train stations and is just a short 20-minute drive to Singapore Changi Airport.

In addition, in 2023, FIDIC is celebrating its 110th anniversary and in recognition of this massive achievement this year’s conference is set to be even more special.

The conference sessions over the two days include the following: -

  • Infrastructure investment – why there’s no time to lose.
  • Persuading the politicians – getting the industry’s message across.
  • Developing a customer-centred approach to infrastructure.
  • Leading the infrastructure revolution.
  • Embedding sustainability at every level of the industry.
  • Shining a spotlight on Asia.
  • Going Digital – delivering smarter infrastructure at pace.
  • Building a better world through good infrastructure investment.
  • Developing the industry’s response to the key challenges.

The conference programme will also include six special forums which will run parallel with the conference agenda and cover key areas of interest for attendees. A Finance Forum will discuss key and emerging issues facing CFOs and others working in the financial field. A Legal and Risk Management Forum will take a look at the latest key and emerging risk management and legal issues for legal directors, general counsels and others working in the field and a Human Capital Forum will discuss key and emerging people issues for HR professionals.

The Contract Management Forum will take a look at the key and emerging issues in the contract management and project delivery arena, while a Digital Transformation Forum will discuss key and emerging issues in the digital and technology sphere. Finally, a Dispute Avoidance and Resolution Forum will enable FIDIC adjudicators and other interested parties to discuss key issues in the disputes arena.

Attendees at the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference 2023 will also have the opportunity of networking with decision makers from consulting engineering firms, contractors, governments, civic society, international organisations and financial institutions. The event also includes the annual FIDIC Awards Gala Dinner event which is always a special highlight for attendees.

This really is the world’s stand-out international event for the infrastructure and built environment industry and FIDIC is looking to welcoming the global industry to Singapore in September 2023. Make sure you book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid missing out!
