FIDIC is holding a special webinar, “Recovery with integrity”, to mark the UN’s International Anti-Corruption Day on 9 December 2020.The webinar is free to attend, though advance registration is required, and is a must-attended for professionals working in the construction and infrastructure sector.

Corruption thrives in times of crisis and the ongoing global pandemic has not been an exception. During the Covid-19 health crisis, fighting corruption can mean the difference between life and death; adequate food or hunger; having a roof over your head or becoming homeless.

During the ongoing pandemic, all nations have taken significant measures to address the health emergency and to avoid a global economic collapse. They have mobilised billions in funds to procure medical equipment and provide an economic safety net for citizens and businesses in distress. However, the urgent responses required during the pandemic can create significant opportunities for corruption, so this year’s International Anti-Corruption Day theme highlights that an inclusive Covid-19 recovery can only be achieved with integrity and accountability.

FIDIC and organisations like CoST, the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative, have developed internationally recognised standards and guidelines that contribute to improved transparency and integrity in infrastructure project delivery. FIDIC tools, such as the FIDIC Integrity Management System and the Government Procurement Integrity Management System, are making a real difference in the global fight against corruption and this webinar will look at how the construction and infrastructure sector is working hard to root out this scourge to ensure that the significant social and economic benefits that well-designed infrastructure can bring are not undermined by corruption.

Invited panellists at the webinar include representatives from the FIDIC board, FIDIC’s Integrity Management Committee, the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative CoST, Transparency International and the World Bank.

Book your place now at this free webinar to find out more about how the global economy and infrastructure sector can have a ‘Recovery with Integrity’ and how together we can all stand #UnitedAgainstCorruption.
