He has over 35 years’ experience in the engineering and construction industry having worked both for engineering consultancies and contractors in the design, delivery, technical and commercial management of multi-disciplinary construction projects in the range from $25m to >$1billion USD, mostly using the FIDIC suite. Very experienced DAB/DAAB member for Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) funded projects in Eastern Europe, East/Sub Saharan Africa and Asia. Strong practical focus on the successful implementation of the dispute avoidance role of a DAAB under SC21.3 of the FIDIC 2017 suite and Option W3 (DAB) in the NEC4 form. Experienced ADR professional having acted as arbitrator, mediator, conciliator, adjudicator and expert for construction disputes. Experienced in multi-disciplinary power generation and distribution projects, large buildings, tunnelling, road construction, long-span bridges, railways, building services, marine works projects port and harbour construction, pipe work and cable laying, dredging, coastal protection, telecommunications projects, water supply/treatment projects, reservoir construction, wastewater collection/treatment systems. Member of the FIDIC Contracts Committee Task Group 9 as Principal Drafter of the Yellow, Red and Emerald Book Subcontract forms.
