FIDIC Nestor Principal Contract Seminar, Berlin, 22-23 April 2016
This two-day seminar presents the essential content of the Red and Yellow Books, the manner in which they should be understood in a national context (by reference to the applicable law), as well as in the context of private international law. It thus covers the fields of contracts for construction and plant and design-build. The seminar introduces specialised notions encountered within the FIDIC contracts and explains their fundamental concepts and mechanisms. The main clauses will be commented within their context and illustrated by means of practical examples. Special emphasis will be given to topics such as measurement and valuation in the measurement contract, the lump-sum system and the engineer's role. This seminar may be combined in a cumulative or alternative manner with Principal course II.
