Capacity Building: Events

The Capacity Building Forum is coordinated by the FIDIC Capacity Building Committee. FIDIC capacity development activities comprise the FIDIC International Training Programme and the FIDIC Capacity Development Programme.

FIDIC International Training Programme

The FIDIC International Training Programme has two components, international training events organised by FIDIC and in-house training events.

International Training Events

FIDIC organises training courses, workshops and seminars with other organisations and with FIDIC Member Associations. Organizations wishing to organize a training course in association with FIDIC are asked to complete a Request for Information form (RTF). Courses of 1-3 days can be organised in topics ranging from contracts, dispute resolution (covered in the FIDIC Contacts and Agreements Training Manual) procurement and tendering (covered in the FIDIC Procurement Training Manual) through to all the aspects of business practice covered in the FIDIC Business Practice Training Manual, see capacity building materials. The Business Practice, Procurement, and Contracts and Agreements modules are listed below

In-House Training Events

Organisations wishing to organise an in-house FIDIC training events are asked to contact FIDIC. Courses, workshops and seminars of 1-3 days can be organised in topics ranging from contracts, dispute resolution (covered in the FIDIC Contacts and Agreements Training Manual) procurement and tendering through to all the aspects of business practice covered in the FIDIC Business Practice Training Manual, see capacity building materials. The in-house training events are offered either in partnership with accredited training suppliers or organised by FIDIC Events through the FIDIC Secretariat using FIDIC Accredited Trainers suppled by FIDIC Accredited Training Suppliers (using a FIDIC Accredited Trainer for FIDIC recognised in-house training confers certain advantages - see Guidelines in PDF). Please contact FIDIC Events at [email protected] for information. Typical courses take one or two days, in English with other languages available, and translators can be arranged in necessary. Seminars generally last one-day and workshops two days. Participants taking part in a FIDIC in-house training event receive a certificate of attendance, issued by FIDIC. Programmes that are available are given by the modules listed above.
