FIDIC has published its Annual Report 2022/2023, which highlights another very busy and successful year for the organisation which is celebrating its 110th anniversary in 2023.

The report includes a comprehensive update on FIDIC’s work over the past 12 months, a year which has seen the business federation take further steps forward, make new connections and increase its influence in the global engineering, construction and infrastructure industry.

A reflection of the increasing range and scope of activities undertaken by the organisation is the fact that this year’s report is the largest ever and it comes packed with updates from the FIDIC president and CEO, committee and advisory council chairs, regional groups and the increasingly influential Global Leadership Forum, which has taken significant strides forward over the past year.

The report also contains the latest news from the FIDIC Academy, FIDIC Credentialing and FCS Beijing, together with a detailed review of the year and also updates on FIDIC’s contracts and events and the organisation’s 110th anniversary celebrations which are being marked during FIDIC’s annual Global Infrastructure Conference which takes place in Singapore next week.

Writing in this year’s Annual Report, outgoing FIDIC president Tony Barry paid tribute to the work of FIDIC’s volunteers. “Our advisory councils and committees continue to deliver for FIDIC and again I express my gratitude to our volunteers across all of these bodies,” he said. “Their work underpins FIDIC’s leadership of the industry. We have over 200 volunteers from 50 countries involved in our work and they are sensational, much appreciated and we would achieve much less without their expertise and their input.”

In the same vein, FIDIC CEO Dr Nelson Ogunshakin said: “Once again, the past 12 months has seen FIDIC take further steps forward across all areas of its operations and organisation. We have been able to achieve these improvements thanks in no small part to the leadership shown by our president Tony Barry, our dedicated board members, the volunteers who work hard on FIDIC’s many committees and advisory councils and as part of the FIDIC Academy and of course our excellent and hard-working staff whose efforts keep the FIDIC show on the road throughout each and every year.

“As I reflect on the past year and a FIDIC that is now 110 years old, together with my five years anniversary of being appointed as FIDC CEO, I do so keenly aware of the organisation’s history, recognition of the transformative achievements made across many fronts over the last five years, but also with a sense of excitement at what is to come in the future. Due to the corporate changes that we have instituted overt recent years and thanks to the excellent leadership of our board and presidents, FIDIC finds itself in excellent shape to both address and capitalise on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.”
