Trainer’s experience

Mr Musonda a civil/structural engineer and has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Masters of Engineering (in Construction Management) Degrees (Zambia), and an MSc degree in Construction Law and Arbitration [Aberdeen]. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and is listed on the FIDIC and DRBF Presidents’ lists of approved Adjudicators. He has international experience as an Arbitrator and Adjudicator and has strong knowledge and background of:
• Application of alternative dispute resolution methods and procedures including negotiation, amicable settlement, conciliation, and Dispute Boards to Building and Civil engineering construction projects.
• Management of large infrastructure (roads and buildings) programmes in the context of project cycle management and application of various contract forms such as the ICE, JCT, NEC, EDF, and FIDIC Contracts.
• Claims analysis and calculation of financial entitlements – component of all adjudication and arbitration decisions and awards.
Construction Contracts specialist and has served on Dispute Boards in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Botswana, Lesotho, Uganda, Malawi, Rwanda and Zambia.
Has conducted training in the application of contracts FIDIC Consultancy Model Forms, 1999 and 2017 Suites, Green and Subcontractor Forms including the use of Dispute Adjudication/Avoidance Boards, and in Construction Contract Management, and Arbitration, for Construction personnel and ‘Roads and Infrastructure’ Implementing Agencies in the Sub-Sahara region of Africa.
Has conducted training workshops and is a regular presenter at ICC/ DRBF and FIDIC Users African region conferences. He is also an active participant in development and professional activities of the DRBF, GAMA, ICC and FIDIC conferences and regularly attends seminars and the annual conferences.
