Rodrigo Juárez, a project manager with FOA Consultores in Mexico, has been named as the winner of the FIDIC 2026 Future Leaders Award at an awards ceremony held in New Delhi, India, on 15 September 2026, as part of the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference (GIC26).

The FIDIC Future Leaders Awards highlight the outstanding talent and potential within the consulting engineering sector, recognising individuals who have made, or are poised to make, significant contributions to the sector.

Announcing the winner of the award, Artur Brito, chair of the FIDIC Future Leaders Advisory Council, said: “The judges said that it was really inspiring to read our winner’s entry. They were impressed, not only by his achievement, but also by his dedicated involvement in the Future Leaders Advisory Council and also his regional and national associations. He demonstrated high integrity and his social contributions, including volunteering, were also impressive.

Reflecting on this year’s entries, Brito added: “What really stood out this year was the sheer variety of countries putting forward candidates. That’s a real source of inspiration, not just for the finalists themselves, but for FIDIC member associations everywhere who get to see their own young professionals recognised on a global stage.

“Future leaders are such a key part of our conference, and rightly so. Nurturing this next generation of talent sits right at the heart of our industry's capacity-building agenda, and it’s essential to making sure our profession keeps evolving to meet the challenges ahead.”

Commenting on the 2026 awards, which were presented during the 2026 FIDIC Global Infrastructure Awards Gala Dinner, FIDIC president Alfredo Ingletti said: “Our FIDIC Future Leaders Awards recognise the rising talent in our profession. Keep an eye on these names – they are, genuinely, ones to watch.”

Two highly commended prizes were also given in this year’s awards. They went to Harshita Jain, joint managing director of Consulting Engineers Group in India, and to Lorena Oliveira, executive director at TPF Engenharia in Brazil.
