FIDIC has published its Annual Report 2023/2024, which is packed full of information that reflects another very active, busy and successful year for the organisation.
Writing in her update in the report, FIDIC president Catherine Karakatsanis said “The review of the year in this annual report really highlights the broad range of FIDIC’s activities. Once again, we have been actively engaged on many fronts and the scale and scope of those activities in which FIDIC is involved only serves to highlight our influence with stakeholders across the global engineering, construction and infrastructure industry. Of course, more activity and initiatives mean that we need to work hard and organise our resources as effectively as possible and this is an ongoing challenge, especially in the face of a changing industry and economic climate.”
The FIDIC Annual Report 2023/2024 reviews the organisation’s work over the past 12 months, which has seen FIDIC consolidate its influence in the global engineering, construction and infrastructure industry and take steps to widen its policy and advocacy activities by releasing a slew of reports on some of the key issues facing the industry, like decarbonisation, nature positive solutions and AI.
This year’s report includes updates on FIDIC’s finances, a board review, a member association update and reports from FIDIC's ten working committees and advisory councils, regional groups, the Global Leadership Forum. There are also updates from FIDIC Academy, FIDIC Credentialing, a publications and contracts round up as well as a comprehensive review of the year.
The report also highlights the steps forward being taken on net zero and the further steps being taken to quantify FIDIC’s climate impact, as well as detailing the organisation’s ongoing progress in the digital, communications and events sphere. As FIDIC’s marketing manager Nadia Van Der Waltova writes in the report: “FIDIC has significantly broadened its use of multimedia to better engage its diverse audience. Producing high-quality video content has been a critical component of this strategy. This includes webinars, interviews with industry experts and comprehensive event recaps that capture the highlights and key takeaways of FIDIC’s various conferences and events.”
Concluding her update in the report, FIDIC president Catherine Karakatsanis said: “I am proud of what FIDIC has accomplished over the past year and I feel privileged to work alongside dedicated individuals in such a supportive and collegiate environment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me and the organisation during my first year as president, especially our members, the board and our staff.”
