FIDIC CEO

Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE has been appointed as the new FIDIC Chief Executive Officer in July 2018.

Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE was appointed as the new FIDIC Chief Executive officer in July 2018 with overall responsibility for FIDIC global operations.

He is also a Member of the Board of Transport for London (£10.5 bn annual turnover) and is the Vice Chair of its Programmes and Investment Committee and serves on its Audit and Assurance Committee and its Customer Service and Operational Performance Panel. He is also TfL nominee Board member of Cross Rail Limited, £14.8 billion Rail development in London.

Nelson was the immediate past President and CEO of Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) for 14 years and he was responsible for the transformation and repositioning of the ACE to be a leading business association representing the interests of over 450 consultancy and engineering companies employing over 90,000 professionals with annual turnover close to £90 billion. ¨

He co-chaired the National Infrastructure Plan Strategic Engagement Forum (NIPSEF) and was appointed by the GLA as a member of the London Infrastructure Delivery Board. He chairs the Investment Committee of ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investment Funds (PE) and has over 30 years' experience in planning, finance, delivery and management of major property and infrastructure investment projects.

Nelson has a BSc in Civil Engineering from Aston, MSc in Construction and Programme Management from Birmingham and a MBA in Strategic Management & Corporate Finance from Aston, where he is also Royal Academy of Engineer Visiting Professor on Infrastructure Investment. He is a Fellow Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Companion of Chartered Institute of Management, CEDR Accredited Mediator and Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrations and Chartered Institute of Marketing.
