Short summary experiences

Since moving to the United Arab Emirates in 2008 I have been involved in multiple mandates relating to some of the region's most high-profile projects: from power stations to battery storage facilities, international airports to eVTOL vertiports, high speed railways to metro extensions, residential towers to fully integrated lifestyle communities - in most of the jurisdictions in the Middle East (including Jordan, Egypt, KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, UAE) and the African continent (Kenya, Benin, Ethiopia, Nigeria) as well as further afield in Myanmar, the Philippines, United Kingdom and elsewhere. In addition to advising on clients on procurement, contract drafting and negotiation (either those tendering for projects or inviting those tenders - and within the supply chain) I have also advised on many joint venture/consortium arrangements between consultants or contractors. I have also advised on project agreements. The majority of my practice has been in the realm of dispute resolution. This has mainly been arbitration but, increasingly, contractual adjudication techniques (including FIDIC DABs and DAABs as well as bespoke arrangements) and mediation. I also have conducted litigation in the DIFC and ADGM Courts.
