Gary is a highly experienced Adjudicator having acted as Adjudicator on over 200 matters in the past 20 years, Gary is also a highly accomplished Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Builder and Chartered Arbitrator with over 40 years’ experience in building and engineering projects worldwide. Over the last 25 years Gary has regularly been instructed as expert witness and/or claims manager on quantum issues (valuation of disputed variations, prolongation, disruption, loss of profits) on major disputes across all sectors of industry including oil and gas shipbuilding, offshore windfarms. process plants, engineering, infrastructure and building projects (aviation, commercial, healthcare, residential, retail).
Gary has a deep understanding of contractor claims (both preparation and defence) having held senior commercial roles for large civil engineering and building contractors for the first 15 years of his career. This, combined with his legal training and a further 25 years providing consultancy services in connection with contentious and non-contentious matters, enables Gary to provide reasoned and sound opinion based on personal experience.
