Metehan is dual qualified, having a Master’s Degree in Construction Management and an LLM degree in Construction Law and Arbitration, and is a member of numerous professional institutions.Metehan is a Chartered Civil Engineer with more than 18 years of broad-based construction experience. He has worked extensively across international arbitration and dispute adjudication boards and has acted as quantum and delay expert witness.Metehan has worked on various international projects providing contractual claims and dispute resolution services, project planning, contract drafting and negotiation, delay and disruption analysis and quantum- services. His experience includes buildings, infrastructure, oil and gas, power, highways, water treatment and utilities projects across Europe, Russia and the CIS, Africa, and the Middle East.Metehan has participated in numerous construction disputes and international arbitrations at the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, ITOTAM, DIFC, UNCITRAL and ICSID. He also has experience in various alternative dispute resolution forums including negotiation, dispute resolution boards (DRB), dispute adjudication boards (DAB) and adjudication. Metehan specialises in the FIDIC suite of contracts and has been appointed as a DAB under FIDIC. Metehan has served as an expert in quantum and delay matters, claims management, dispute avoidance, dispute resolution and arbitration support. He has been crossed-examined in arbitral proceedings, including giving concurrent evidence (hot-tubbing). Metehan delivers FIDIC contract claims workshops, training small and large groups of practitioners. He has also published a number of articles on a variety of construction and dispute resolution topics.
