Integrity in infrastructure delivery during times of corruption and conflict
A webinar from the FIDIC Integrity Management Committee
Integrity in procurement of consulting and construction assignments is challenging in the best of circumstances. However, when there is a widespread crisis – of corruption, or worse, of war and conflict – successful procurement and execution of critical infrastructure and buildings becomes a significant challenge. Without an open and transparent process, infrastructure improvements do not occur, or the programme may be poorly executed. The reputations of the architecture, engineering and construction industry, consultants and constructors alike, are damaged. Ultimately, the intended beneficiaries of much-needed infrastructure – roads, power, water and sanitation – suffer.
FIDIC’s Integrity Management Committee has assembled a knowledgeable panel of speakers for this important webinar to discuss managing integrity during times of crises. The webinar will address the lessons we can learn from past crises, how these lessons are communicated, tools and processes to improve procurement and how engineers and procurement officials might positively influence the integrity of current and future procurements - most specifically in Eastern Europe. The conflict in Ukraine is resulting in significant damage to its infrastructure and significant stress to the infrastructure of neighboring countries and this event will look at what should be done to provide leadership for much-needed reconstruction and resiliency in the region? How should the consulting engineering community respond and engage? To find out more, book your place at this free webinar today.
