Based on the FIDIC Gold Book and harmonized with the 2017 FIDIC Books, the core element of this new form will be the management of the risk which derives from the existing facilities and the interface between old and new. The panel will be discussing critical areas of contract administration including optimisation opportunities and common pitfalls to avoid, as well as the latest trends in dispute management and avoidance. 

The FIDIC 2017 updates focused on dispute avoidance and reflect current best practice for Dispute Boards. The main changes and improvements introduced in the 2017 edition will be explained and discussed during this session. Included in the discussion will be an overview of the reformulation of the current 20 clauses of the FIDIC contracts, with a new Clause 21 dedicated to dispute avoidance and resolution and the tools and techniques offered in the New Dispute Avoidance/Adjudication Board (“DAAB”) Procedural Rules.

THE FIDIC CONTRACTS AWARDS 2020

The FIDIC Contracts Awards aim to recognise excellence in the use of FIDIC contract forms for project delivery and to showcase examples of good practice through collaboration from across the world. The purpose of the awards is to bring the community of FIDIC contract users together, to celebrate and highlight excellence and best practice and raise the profile of FIDIC contracts on a global scale.

Winners of the awards embody real achievement and are a testimony to the great work carried out by the individual, team, project or organisation.

 

The winners will be presented with their awards at the FIDIC International Contract Users’ Conference which is planned to take place digitally from Monday 30 November to Thursday 3 December 2020. 

 

As part of this programme, the awards will be presented digitally on the evening of Tuesday 1 December. 

The closing date for entries for the awards is 23 October 2020.
