Countdown to the FIDIC 2017 International Infrastructure Conference to international markets

Category:

In less than 6 weeks Jakarta will welcome international delegates to this ground breaking event, where the global consulting engineering industry, along with clients, financial institutions, suppliers and partners will gather to explore how to improve the quality of urban living through better infrastructure.

All too often the threats and challenges caused by political turmoil, climate change, population growth, natural disasters, as well as inadequate or inappropriate infrastructure, are forcing decision makers and their engineering consultants to consider resilience and adaptive strategies to address current and future needs.

Renowned speakers from all continents will share with the audience their practical experiences and solutions. Participants will have the opportunity to be challenged by speakers such as Luky Wuryanto, Vice President of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, as well as James Stewart, CEO of KPMG Global Infrastructure.  They will be joined by the leaders of consulting firms such as Royal Haskoning DHV, Cardo, CDM Smith, Aurecon, IMC Worldwide, Tata Consulting, Nippon Koei, Witteveen & Bos, and many others from around the globe. Government clients and agencies such as the Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works will bring personal experience of infrastructure failure, and share the way in which solutions might be developed.

Professors and other experts will bridge theory into practice on the latest thinking on resilient infrastructure, as represented by seismic expert, Professor Irsyam Japan, or Prof Roger Flanagan world renowned Construction Management expert from Reading University. The new Jakarta MRT will be the focus of local expert Mr Sahbandar, with a different focus from Japanese funding agency JICA.

FIDIC will also avail itself of this opportunity to present to delegates and visitors, a diverse range of interactive Business Best Practice discussions, new perspectives, industry trends and in-depth learning with experts, immediately prior to the conference. The rich programme will also include leadership development opportunities and an impressive array of presentations from young professionals during a special Young Professional Symposium. These side events are expected to attract considerable attention from the global FIDIC community.
