1. Member Associations
Member Association is a national association which is the largest association of firms providing technology-based intellectual consulting services for the built and natural environment in a country. Full contact details of the FIDIC national Member Associations are available on the FIDIC website at http://fidic.org/members
Applications are assessed by the FIDIC Secretariat and then forwarded to the FIDIC Membership Committee for review and recommendation to the Executive Committee (EC). The Executive Committee reviews their recommendation and submits compliant applications to the FIDIC General Assembly Meeting which takes place in conjunction with the annual FIDIC International Infrastructure Conference.
Member Association – Application documents
To apply to join FIDIC as a Member Association, an organisation is asked to send the following documents to the FIDIC Secretariat:
FIDIC bases the calculation of subscriptions for Member Associations on the numbers of staff employed by member firms or group of firms. In 2013, the unit rate is 2.95 Swiss Francs per staff member. The minimum membership fee is 1,900 Swiss Francs per year.
Summarised below are the procedures that an organisation or individual is asked to follow to become an Associate Member or an Affiliate Member of FIDIC.
2. Associate Members
Associate Member is any individual organisation, association, firm or group of firms which is based in a country not having a Member Association, and which has a major part of its activity in the engineering consulting industry. In many cases it is appropriate for a representative organisation in such a country to join FIDIC as an Associate Member. This membership category is aimed at organisations that aim to become a FIDIC national Member Association. Subject to a final decision by the Executive Committee, it may also apply to associations covering sectors related to the consulting engineering industry but are not under a formal "umbrella" arrangement with the FIDIC national Member Association.
