Louis Prangey Award 2015

The Louis Prangey Award, the highest recognition for dedicated service to FIDIC, was named after the founding FIDIC President, Louis Prangey. The Louis Prangey Award was established to be presented to a person who has rendered significant service to the Federation and/or to the profession of independent consulting engineering, and who exemplifies the objectives of the Federation. The recipient is considered to be a role model for the consulting engineering industry.

 

 

 

Eur Ing Philip Jenkinson graduated in Engineering Science from Oxford University and is a UK Chartered Civil Engineer.  He has extensive international project and commercial experience gained while living and working in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.  For the past 30 years he has been with Atkins, where he is now a Principal Consultant.

Mr Jenkinson’s special interest is engineering project management, including contract strategy, procurement, construction supervision and dispute settlement.  He has had significant experience as the Engineer and Engineer’s Representative on FIDIC-based contracts.  He now specialises in executive project management and contract advice for international clients at the most senior levels. 

Mr Jenkinson has been active with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) since 1991.  He has been Chair of the FIDIC Contracts Committee since 2010, having been a Member since 2002. He has worked on the drafting of three new forms of contract, namely the Design-Build and Turnkey, Short Form, and Dredging and Reclamation Contracts, and presented papers internationally on related subjects. 

Although currently based in the United Kingdom, for many years he lived and worked as a civil engineer, project, and business manager, in the Middle East, Central and South-East Asia, North Africa and Central Europe.
